Empowering Students With Safe, Purposeful and Future-Ready Technology

At Waverley Christian College, our approach to digital learning is intentional, balanced, and grounded in our Christian ethos. Technology is not simply a tool—it is an opportunity for students to learn with excellence, think creatively, and engage with the world in ways that honour God and respect others.

Our device programs—1:1 iPads in Primary School and 1:1 Laptops in Secondary School—are designed to enhance teaching and learning, cultivate digital wisdom, and help students navigate an increasingly complex online world with integrity and confidence.

Both programs are supported by robust cyber-safety partnerships and a strong focus on digital wellbeing.

Primary School iPad Program (Years 3–6)

Our Primary 1:1 iPad Program empowers students to become confident learners and responsible digital citizens. The iPad is used as a learning companion, not a device for entertainment. It supports inquiry learning, visible thinking, creativity, and foundational literacy skills, all within a structured and safe digital environment.

College-Managed Devices for Consistency & Safety

  • College-Managed Devices for Consistency & Safety
  • All iPads are purchased through our approved portal and fully managed by the College to ensure security, consistency and safe use.
  • Apps are pre-approved and installed by our IT team; students cannot install new apps independently.
  • Internet access is filtered at school and device use is supervised by teachers through classroom-management tools.

Purpose-Built for Learning

  • Used approximately 30–50% of the school day, always in support of learning goals.
  • No recreational games, social media, YouTube or messaging functions.
  • Encourages creativity, problem-solving, communication and critical thinking.

Durability, Warranty & Peace of Mind

  • Education-grade case with keyboard included.
  • Four-year combined warranty (3-year AppleCare+ plus Winthrop Platinum Support).
  • Highly durable and supported by our IT department for the life of the program.

Secondary School Laptop Program (Years 7–12)

Our Secondary 1:1 Laptop Program ensures every student is equipped with a powerful, education-accredited laptop that is tested, configured, and fully compatible with the College’s learning environment. Students use their device as a tool for research, creation, collaboration, and deep learning across all subject areas.

High-Quality, Education-Accredited Devices

  • Devices selected in partnership with Centre Com’s education specialists to ensure durability, performance and value.
  • Options include HP ProBook x360 models (Years 7–12) and the Apple MacBook Air M4 (VCE).
  • All devices include extended onsite warranties and accidental damage protection.

Safe & Responsible Digital Use

  • Governed by our comprehensive Secondary Acceptable Use Policy, rooted in Christian character, digital citizenship, and personal responsibility.
  • Students are expected to use devices respectfully, ethically, and with integrity in all online interactions.

Supported & Supervised Learning Environment

  • Filtered internet access at school and managed software environments.
  • Teachers use digital tools to guide, monitor, and support student learning.
